Heather Harm is the new owner and operator of Taste &Technique, which opened in 2007. She has been working in the culinary world for over 20 years and is a graduate of Boston University, with a degree in Culinary Arts and Restaurant Management. She has utilized her diverse background across multiple sectors within the industry to launch, increase revenue and implement best practices for a wide range of businesses, from national companies such as The Cheesecake Factory to regional supermarket powerhouse ShopRite to small, independent shops such as the Cupcake Wars-winning Papa Ganache Bakery.
Additionally, Heather has taught at and managed various children’s and adult cooking schools throughout New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Heather is an expert in dietary restrictive and allergy-sensitive food preparation.
In addition to owning Taste & Technique, Heather is currently their head chef and instructor while also operating a small catering company within Ocean and Monmouth counties in New Jersey, with a focus on specialty cakes and elegant catering. She also operates as a personal chef within private schools to help create fresh-made nutritious lunch programs.
Heather contracts out independently with various industry leaders in their corporate headquarters for in-house events and at large trade shows nationally. In the wake of COVID-19 Heather has been reinventing herself as a culinary ZOOM instructor for children and adults alike and has recently worked with industry giants such as Merrill Lynch and Food Specialties Trading as a corporate virtual chef.
As Taste & Technique moves into our 15th year in business, we are celebrating the success of “this little place” in surviving COVID-19 and are so grateful for our all-female staff who share a common love of cooking and entertaining. Each of us brings our unique talents to the table to assist our students in discovering the great joy of cooking for family and friends.
